WIN METHOD SUCCESS

The WIN METHOD has just completed its 15th year of operation. As a player evaluation tool, the WIN METHOD is second to none. The WIN METHODs record of success is unparalleled over these past 15 years. 15 seasons, 14 times reaching the playoffs, 7 pennants and 5 WORLD SERIES championships. No other team is even in the ballpark in attaining this record of success and achievement.
Since this blog was started, you the YANKEE fans, the greatest fans in the world, have been posting and reading and learning from this site. Your support is second to none and you guys and gals make the baseball talk forums look like morgues. particularly when it comes to wisdom, insight and baseball knowledge. Thank you all.
The WIN METHOD will be working this off season to improve our great YANKEE team in an attempt to begin the second decade of the 21st century with another playoff, pennant, and WORLD SERIES team. Our goal is to win it all in 2010.
Hope you all enjoyed the parade through the Canyon of Heroes and the ceremonies at City Hall in New York. I went to Tampa to visit Mr.S. and we watched the event together on television. Thank you Mr.S for what you have done for the YANKEE team, your unwavering support of the WIN METHOD, giving the YANKEE fans the grandest new baseball park in the world, and your unending desire to WIN.
Touching on this past season, the playoffs, and the World Series. What a season from manager Joe Girardi and his staff who seemed to push all the right buttons while being above the ignorant second guessing from the sports media. The impeccable handling of the pitching staff, the building of camaraderie on the team, and the winning attitude you have shown. And how about the CORE FOUR, Captain Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada. All the best at their respective position over the past 15 years in baseball. All original WIN METHOD evaluated and selected players and all possible future Hall of Famers.
YANKEE fans, basque in the glory of your team, keep supporting your team, and keep coming back to this blog. I will try to keep you all abreast of any significant happenings whenever possible.

Happy New Year 28 in 10

I see a stat fraud messed with WIN METHOD and got blown out of the water.

Carl Hooks said...

Anyone hear anything about Damon or Wang?

Billy C said...

I heard the Yankees and Damon are talking.

Barry Whitmore said...

And Wang was told to see the Yankees before he signs with anyone else.

johnsondc said...

Man it's peaceful here. But really not much to talk about.

One month till the battery shows up. Yes, lets get rolling. 28 in 10.

Me thinks the Yankees will sign Jerry Hairston. He is very valuable being able to play seven positions, particularly third base where he makes the team better defensively.

bigbadwolf. said...

I see the Reds signed that Cuban pitcher. I hope they like red ink. All the kid did was hold out to get every penny he could. He doesn't give a rats arse about winning. It is just another me player.

Steve said...

The red ink is a minor problem. The kid is gutless and has a better chance of hurting a batter than being a success in MLB.

I can assume Champman was not WIN METHOD, because if he was he would be a Yankee. If he did sign for just money, then there is no question, he will be just another loser.

David S said...

Chapman will need a few years to develop arm strength. If he keeps over throwing and doesn't learn to pitch, he will implode. the Yankees have handled Joba and Hughes brilliantly. Both have a bright and long future.

Teena/Bronx said...

I'd love to see Hughes and Chamberlain come of age this year. Maybe it will shut up some of those ignorant fans knocking the Yankee handling of both.

grewt stuff here, keep it up

I too am starting to get itchy for baseball.. this football crap is boring as hell.

My father said I have to write correctly if I want to post here. He helped me write this. I love the Yankees.

bigbadwolf said...

Keep up the good work and Johnny, you and your father are great Yankee fans.

TedL said...

Still wondering about Damon.

Steve said...

It looks like Hairston went to the Padres. I think the Yankees are looking to some of their minor league talent to step up.

YankeeMike said...

Nothing wrong with bringing in our youngsters for some major league seasoning.

johnsondc said...

It looks like WIN METHOD is aggravating some stat frauds on one of the baseball forums.

bigbdwolf said...

And there the stat frauds go again. trying to say the loser is better than the winner.

William Mensom said...

To some people losing with big stats is better than winning with lesser stats.

johnsondc said...

Wow, that mod on that forum is some kind of idiot. For the other stat frauds, excuses, excuses, excuses. That is why the WIN METHOD is so great, no excuses.

Sharon/NC said...

I wonder how many games the Yankees will win this year.

Erica Nuyens said...

Hopefully just enough to go into the playoffs. That's all that matters.

RLA said...

It really doesn't matter how many games the team wins, just as long as they advance into the playoffs.

Eddie OConnor said...

You can't be the best unless you win.

Harry Stavris said...

That would be great WIN METHOD.

Paul H said...

I agree, that would leave us very deep.

Andy Matsos said...

Hello, can you help me figure out what I may be missing, please?

"The WIN METHOD has just completed its 15th year of operation."

So that means its first year of operation was 1995.

"The CORE FOUR, Captain Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Mariano Rivera, and Jorge Posada. All the best at their respective position over the past 15 years in baseball. All original WIN METHOD evaluated and selected players."

These players entered the organization from 1990-92. I'm missing the connection.

Tom Tiernan said...

Sid, it has less meaning now because Hairston is with the Padres. But I gotta argue with your earlier statement, "particularly third base where he makes the team better defensively." Sure, A-Rod suffered in the field last year coming off that hip operation. But Hairston has played 62 games over his whole career at third, 49 of them last year. To put it mildly, it's not one of his better spots on the field. Bad call, and we won't even bring batting into the equation. Maybe you were one of those guys (like bigbadwolf) who thought Cody Ransom was better for the team at the beginning of last year?

Sid Lovitz said...

Tom, I mentioned nothing about Hairstons offense, just stated that he would be an upgrade at third base over Rodriquez defensively. Just to add, almost anyone would be an upgrade over Rodriquez. I must admit, that Rodriquez has improved at the position. that probably has to do with Jeter being so good and covering much of his position.

Sid Lovitz said...

Andy, you may wish to reread the entire WIN METHOD blog. You then may be able to understand the time frame of the WIN METHOD.

Tom Tiernan said...

Can't agree with you on your view of Rodriguez at third, Sid. He started showing signs that the hip was bothering him in '08, and obviously he was recovering from the operation last year. But for most of his time at third, he's done a solid job in the field with a few bad patches.

Pre-hip, range was not really his problem, it was more reaction plays. So I can't get behind the idea that Jeter was covering for him. If you look at '07, Tht Captain was gutting it out through leg injuries and was having a hard time keeping up to his own norm. Last year, which everyone agrees was on of Jeter's best in the field, he played deeper. And that would give him less leeway to "cover" for A-Rod.

This just sounds like more kneejerk Rodriguez-bashing. I thought Yankee fans got over that last year.

Sid Lovitz said...

Right, it's also Rodriquez bashing when Arod is criticized, but it is never Jeter bashing when fans criticize Jeter. I'll take the player who has proven to lead his team to playoffs, pennants, and WS championships before anyone else. Only a fool would criticize the proven champion.

Tom Tiernan said...

Nice non-answer, Sid. I'll take it from your avoidance that you realize your overstatement on Rodriguez's fielding.

Sid Lovitz said...

I can live with taking almost any player playing third base better defensively than Rodriquez. Eliminate his bat and he couldn't be a fill in infielder for anyone.
