WIN METHOD 3

Today we will review several WIN METHOD tenets and cover several topics.
First off, YANKEE fans, let us congratulate our team on this weekends performance in sweeping four games from the bosux. Keep in mind however this WIN METHOD tenet. No team is as good as they seem when on a winning streak, and no team is as bad as they seem when they are on a losing streak.
Secondly, with my years of baseball knowledge, I can very confidently say the YANKEES will make the playoffs.
Third, always remember this all important tenet of the WIN METHOD. The single most important tool in evaluating a player is WHEN that player performs. Never how much or how many he attains for himself, but WHEN he delivers to help in creating a win for the team. Get rid of the stat fraud individual stats and see which teams are led to the playoffs by the best players in the game.
Fourth, WIN METHOD fans and followers are the most knowledgeable, wisest fans in all of baseball. Thank you all for contributing so much to this blog, keeping the train moving and your choo choos.
Finally the most important issue. After all his seasons in baseball, it finally appears our friend Afaud has come of age. He has done more to help the team win this year than during any season for any team he has played for. Maybe his hip injury and his time away at the beginning of the season has helped make a difference. But recently, Arod has become part of the team, finally realizing others produce WHEN it counts, not just him, and all members of the team help in achieving the goal of team success. He has shown joy when others than himself have produced. His corruption of Cano and Melky has ceased since Jeter has taken them under his wing.
Always remember WIN METHOD fans, it is the team that wins, no individual player. Individuals can succeed for themselves statistically, but if the team does not win, the individual stats are meaningless except for use by stat frauds and fantasy leagues.

WIN METHOD...Thank you for all you do and have done for the YANKEES and this blog, the greatest in baseball.

Erica Nuyens said...

More great WIN METHOD. Love you.

Walter O said...

There is no question, the WIN METHOD is the best there is. When I argue players with my friends, they are always shot down when winning is used to show who the best players are. Choo choo

Sharon/NC said...

If Mitre can give some good innings tonight, hopefully we can win 8 straight. Keep the train moving , choo choo.

Peter Bauer said...

You go WIN METHOD. Pure genius. Keep the train rolling Yankees tonight, choo choo.

Gabe Hooks said...

Hopefully you are right about arod. He has seemed to be calmer and tem oriented. Lets hope so. Win tonight. choo choo.

Hank Beisenet said...

I agree, no individual stat, no matter what it is, or who it is, has anywhere near the value of the team winning.
Therefore, lets win our 8th straight tonight and keep moving forward. choo choo.

H Lopez said...

Yes, wins and winning is all the matters. I leave everything else to the stat frauds to whine about and claim how their guy is better than the champion.
No let down guys, choo choo.

Ken Ross said...

Keep two streak going tonight. the Yankees win and the bosux lose. choo choo,

Carl Sanders said...

The train was stopped. We need to give someone else other than Mitre a chance to start. It was a tough one run loss, but the Toronto pen did a fine job.
Rebound and regroup for a new train ride today. choo choo

Izzy Hendro said...

Joba needs to throw a good one tonight and dominate again. We can't let up. Choo choo.

H Lopez said...

Yes, we just need to keep winning and taking series one at a time. If that is done, we can't be caught.
Nice blog WIN METHOD.

Matt Ziegler said...

Strikes Joba, make them swing. No walks. Get the train moving again. choo choo

Paul Dixon said...

Lets get ready to rumble and get the train moving to its final destination. Go Joba and Yankees. choo choo.

WIN METHOD said...

Great win last night. Solid relief, big time hits. Sad to say, absolutely nothing from Arod the last two games. Series decider today with Burnett pitching. Let the train roll on, choo choo.

vic stewart said...

Nice comeback in the eight. Lets take the series and move on.

Stan Musinski said...

Will be interesting to see how AJ pitches after that great effort over the bosux. We need an easy win for a change. choo choo

Perry Gould said...

Here we go. For two in a row. choo choo

Len Bradshaw said...

AJ didn't have it, hung in for six, then the pen dominated again. the Yankees win, the Yankees win. The train is moving again. choo choo.

Lee V said...

Another great walkoff win. How sweet it is. choo choo

Jeanne said...

Good game, good win, but it wasn't easy. CC tomorrow can get the road trip on the right track and speed us to our final destination. choo choo

bigbadwolf said...

Todays win gives us another series. No w off on a train trip out west and return to bosuxville in the dusk damp rathole known as fenway. Choo choo

Corey said...

You can't win them all, but we are winning more than anyone. That's the WIN METHOD way.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

Ahh west coast games. Now I will be up to 2 in the morning each game. When you win, It's not to bad. choo choo

Gene P said...

I would tend to say that this road trip is going to test our metal. Ten straight on the road to the west coast and back. I could even live with a 5-5 split and 8-4 would be heaven. The train moves on, choo choo.

Evan said...

CC should give us three straight tonight and get the trip off to a great start. Just keep winning and the train rolling.

Warren Hammond said...

I am going to go out on a limb and predict a one sided easy win tonight for the Yankees. choo choo

Sam Bucci said...

Minutes before we roll again. Get on board or get off. Wins is moving forward. choo choo

WIN METHOD said...

An Arodless YANKEE team pounds the Mariners 11-1 for three straight wins. Not a very WIN METHOD game, with far to many meaningless stat padding runs. But the train keeps moving faster and faster, choo choo.
Right now it is very close to the time where the YANKEE team, not making the playoffs is highly inprobable. Oh yes! choo choo.

Andy P said...

I was just about to mention something about Afraud. I like when he is out of the lineup. However is in his place just has more chance of helping the team more consistently. But anyway, choo choo, lets get fourth straight tonight.

Bill Kutkkn said...

CC was dominant again yesterday. He said the best is yet to come. So far so good. Take this game today and we are off and rolling.

Sandy Hoyle said...

I am convinced that we have secured a playoff slot. Near the end of September it will Girardi setting up his rotation and resting his pen to get ready for the first playoff series. I want to win it all rhis year. Jeter deserves another ring. He is the best in baseball.

Bob Behan said...

I was perusing a baseball forum and saw a post from some statfraud regarding ''how will the Yankees fair with Arod out of the lineup''.
I would hope he saw how the Yankees faired. They pounded the M's for 11 runs. They don't need Arod and never did. Hope he's out again tonight and we get another win.

William Mensom said...

Arod, Afraud, has his moments. Just not enough of them to help his team win, considering his pay rate. There are very many more players over the past 10+ years who have helped their team to far more success than he has, and they are all payed far less.

Carl Pell said...

Two hours to game time. Let the train get ready to roll. choo choo

Erica Johnston said...

Another super WIN METHOD game. what a great way to win. Great pitching and just enough hitting. That's four in a row, looking for five tonight. choo choo.

Dave Weber said...

Choo choo, choo choo. A perfect start to a ten game roadie. Mitre tonight will be an adventure. lets get number five and keep moving. And yes, we won again last night without Arod. There is no question, Hairston is a far better and smother glove at third.

Felix Hendro said...

Rolling rolling rolling. Number five tonight. Keep winning, Wins is all that counts.

Sandro Icavor said...

Still the best and only baseball site I visit. Wisdom and common sense. Keep up the great work.

Eddie OConnor said...

I was on a talk site the other day. Was debating stats vs. wins with an ignorant stat fraud. Wow, are stat frauds dense or what. It's like talking to a wall. I love the WIN METHOD.

Eric Nuyens said...

Five in a row, another series, another WIN METHOD win, Mitre looks his best, the bullpen is brilliant. Holy cow, things are going good.

William Mensom said...

I am amazed just great the WIN METHOD selection process is. Picking the right free agents to sign, picking the right college kids and foreign players to sign. There is no question in my mind, the WIN METHOD selection process is the greatest tool I have ever come across. The Yankees win/loss record, the playoffs, the pennants, and the WS rings illustrate that.

Andrew J said...

FIVE, going for six and a sweep of a four game series. Jobas turn, and he needs to throw strikes and dominate. choo choo

johnsondc said...

William, I agree, the WIN METHOD is unquestionably the greatest tool in baseball. I have been following it for several years now.
The Yankee bullpen has been simply amazing. Success breeds success, and each reliever has been splendid time after time.
Lets get the seep and six straight. choo choo.

Kevin Hughes said...

Now more than anything, it will be, who do play in the first round of the playoffs.. choo choo

Dennis Hanley said...

About 40 minutes until the train rolls along choo choo.

bigbadwolf said...

Down go the bosux, again. free game for the Yankees. Can't lose ground and another game less for the season. Choo choo.

Benny Pake said...

We lost the fourth game, but come away with 3 of 4. Good start to the road trip. Start the train again in Oakland. choo choo.

Lou Lis said...

Tomko is slated to pitch for the A's tonight. Hope we knock him around every which way from loose. choo choo

Jerry Curcio said...

2 of 3 form the A's and 2 of 3 from the sux would be icing on the cake and kill the sux for the year. choo choo

Victor Bruno said...

We could use another big game from AJ tonight. I like consistency. Throw strikes and make them swing. Lets get a sweep.

Anonymous said...

Good effort from AJ. No bats but for the Jeter. and Afraud retroing to his usual failures. A DP with the bags full and killing ath rally and inning, and maybe the game.

Sid Lovitz said...

nice win last night. just what we needed. jeter is up to .330

Vic Gandozzi said...

Rubber game tonight. A win would be super, and another series win. Should be interesting game.

bigbadwolf said...

Gaudin gets his first start as a Yankee. Would love to win this one. This could really hurt the pretenders. Choo choo.

Nick Howard said...

Gaudin starts tonight, but it looks like Garardi has set up his rotation for the bosux series the way he wanted it.

Walter O said...

Great game last night. Perfect win by WIN METHOD standards. Another series won. Now to bosux land. choo choo

RLA said...

What scares me a little right now is the total absence of production from Afraud. He has been pretty much useless and futile this past week, but Jeter and Tex are carrying the team. Jeter has been simply on fire. He went 2-4 last night and his average dropped from over the road trip.

Robert Lynch said...

Wins is all that matters. We can't be caught unless we lose. Each day the competitions chances get less. Choo choo.

Diane Stahl said...

If we can take 2 of 3 from the bosux this weekend, I would think that would guarantee us the division.

Warren Hammond said...

Rain could be a big factor in Boston this weekend. If we win 3, the sox are dead, win 2 and we have the division crown, win 1 and we will still be in good shape, win 0 and the sox are alive,

Corey Fitzgerald said...

Yes Warren, the news has rain slated for Saturday and Sunday, some very heavy.

Teena/Bronx said...

The whole weekend is in jeopardy. I'm sure the sux will do everything possible to get the games in, or considering how their pitching staff is slated for the series may want to wait to fight another day.

Hank Biesenet said...

One down, two to go. choo choo.

Vic Gandozzi said...

No rain, that surprised me. I hope all the hits and runs weren't used up and some are saved for the next games.

cole f said...

very nice evening, pizza, beer, and a win. loved it, choo choo

Cindy Hooks said...

How many games do your pitchers give up 11 runs and the game is a laugher. Wow, total domination.

johnsondc said...

Jeter, oh my God, is he not the best player in baseball. Three more hits to lead his team. And the assist from a ball off the left field wall that an out fielder never touches. How in the world is he always in the right place at the right time. Shear greatness.

TJ said...

AJ has been sharp and there is no reason for him not to be today in boston. Throw strikes and dominate. The train will keep rolling and choo choo.

Steve said...

As we keep pounding the bosux, we keep the other teams in the wild card race. A win today will cement the division title in my opinion. choo choo

Sandro Icavor said...

Did the Yankees play football last night? Do it again today. choo choo.

Pete Martel said...

Keep winning. Keep the train rolling. Choo choo.

Gus Hawke said...

We are going down bigtime today. If you have to losr, that is the way to do it. Right back rolling tomorrow.

Bob Behan said...

The train rolls again tomorrow. CC, choo choo.

Erica Nuyens said...

Choo choo, CC. Make believe it's a playoff game and shut the sux down. Choo choo.

Eddie OConnor said...

Thank heaven for this blog. I left the baseball talk forum sites because I was sick and tired of their prejudices, infantile posters, and complete ignorance regarding baseball. I him now here forever.

Reggie Merenick said...

CC needs to strut his stuff, throw strikes and defeat Beckett. I want to win this game and set the standard for the playoffs.

Dan Ingals said...

Lets go CC, lets go. Lets go CC, lets go.

Howie Marks said...

Jeter sets the tone, CC earns his 15th, and the Yankees manhandle Beckett. Great game and another series win.

Matt Ziegler said...

Never behind and a great game to watch. Day off tomorrow for the choo choo.

Carl Pell said...

CC sets the tone for the playoffs. This road trip probably decided the AL East crown for the Yankees. The train is rolling along. Choo choo.

Ben Pake said...

Outstanding road trip, outstanding weekend. Down go the bosux and slush buckett. Rolling, rolling, rolling, the train keeps rolling along. Choo choo.

johnsondc said...

29-29, but one team won the series 2-1. Why is that? Because only wins count and determine the best, not how many runs are scored.

William Mensom said...

What I liked about yesterdays game was how the bosux wasted the arm of Beckett by keeping in the game. Those extra wasted pitches will haunt them as the year progresses.

bigbadwolf said...

The next series starts today. Win one game at a time and one series at a time. Wins is the only stat that means anything, and it means everything.

Carl Sherwin said...

Strikes Joba, get your act together.
Keep the train rolling, choo choo.

Henry F said...

This is another good series to take and show a possible would be playoff contender whta they are store for.
Take game one Joba.

Erica Johnston said...

Captain Jeter, start the engines and lets get rolling. choo choo

Harry Potter said...

I'm hoping Pettitte can go out there tomorrow and cast a Patronus Charm. I just don't know if he can do it, you know? He's going to need all the concentration in the world to pull off a spell like that.

Fred Slube said...

Jobas recent efforts are becoming unacceptable. He needs to get his act together.

bigbadwolf said...

A HEADS UP TO POSTERS...foul language is not acceptable...you may wish to call someone an idiot...God knows how many stat fraud idiots have posted here.

andrew j said...

Bounce back win tonight. Get the train back on the roll. choo choo.

Sid Lovitz said...

Very nice win. Pretty dominating by Pettitte against a solid hitting team. The series is even and we can win another one with a win today. I think AJ will want to bounce back after his last outing

Don Mooney said...

Great game last night. Solid win from the core.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

The definition of why individual stats are utterly meaningless was illustrated in todays game. Statistically Burnett had a dominating six innings striking out 12 of 18 outs. He lost. His team did not win, but he dominated. I would have rather he give up 6 runs and win and strike out no one.

Jerry Curcio said...

yeah sid, it only matters if you win or lose, not how you get there.

CC tomorrow should get the train rolling again.

Brian Cashman said...

This has to be the funniest blog on the internet.

Kudos.

Erica Johnston said...

Three wins and a sweep. choo choo

Don Herman said...

Lets see Andy keep the train rolling tonight. Great weekend series sweeping the White Sox with Jeter leading the way. Should break the Yankee all time hit mark within two weeks. One of the greatest Yankees of all time. Choo choo

Hank Beisenet said...

It looks like a phoney stat fraud idiot is posting. Haven't had one in a long time. Or he could be a bosux whiner.
Keep taking series guys. choo choo

William Mensom said...

Oh my God, wasn't Pettitte outstanding. Great game, nice win. Fet everyone ready for the playoffs, as the roster expandas to 40.

Heny W said...

Pettitte was fantastic. He is getting better with age. I'm glad we didn't go after Santana. He may struggle to get back next year.

Victor Bruno said...

AJ needs to match Andy today. Lets win this series tonight.

Peter Bauer said...

Five in a row. CC goes today for number six, another series sweep, and the train is powering along on full throttle. choo choo.

Sandivor O said...

We need to lose some games. Don't want to go into the post season 25-5. More live 18-12 or even 16-14.
AJ needs to get organized, just in time for the playoffs?

bigbadwolf said...

I agree, every team loses a certain amount of games. Of course the better teams lose less. But when you are winning an extraordinary amount of games, several losses must come. QWe need to lose some now and start a big win streak for the playoffs. With CC going today, it doesn't look like a loss, but instead a sixth straight win.

johnny said...

go yankees, the yankees are best

Len Brewster said...

Tis the season of another World Series win.

Stan Musinski said...

CC should get us a win tonight. This team has been running on all cylinders. choo choo

Tony Agassi said...

A season of never ending win streaks. Solid game from CC. choo choo

Gina B said...

The bosux lose and are fighting for a playoff spot. The world is in orbit again. The Yankees are best.

Warren Hammond said...

Great site guy. Good positive Yankee posts, and the only way to rate the game, by winning.

johnsondc said...

Right on Warren, this is the place for smart Yankee fans. Great baseball acumen.

Steve said...

Chad Gaudin goes tonight. this is a game we are supposed to lose. Or is the train just going to roll anyone in its way? choo choo

Stan Musinski said...

What are we going to have to do to lose a game. Everything we do turns out gold. choo choo

bigbadwolf said...

Seven straight, the train is steaming along, choo choo. Another great season for the WIN METHOD.

Terri R said...

Joba for a few innings tonight, then the bullpen. What will Haladay bring to the table. Eight in a row.

johnsondc said...

There is little doubt that this Jeter led team has an aura about it. The addition of AJ, CC, and Tex, combined with the 110% effort by the others is the tonic that was needed to overcome Afrauds inefficiencies.

Sid Greenberg/nyc said...

If any of you wish to back track and reread WIN METHODs blogs, you will he stated that exact same fact. WIN METHOD knows baseball and is far ahead of the curve.

Dennis G said...

Thank heaven, we needed that loss. And at a good time, the bosux lost also. Another game off the schedule, the season is almost over and we are going to the playoffs.

Linda P said...

Yes, an ideal loss. A loss when you get one hitted by one of the best pitchers in baseball and you do not hurt your own staff in a rout. A few more losses would be OK also.

Sharon/NC said...

Andy has been brilliant lately. Lets see if the team bounces back today. choo choo

William Mensom said...

It looks like Jeter will get the all time Yankee hit record at home this coming week. what an honor for the best player presently in baseball.

Corey said...

A great WIN METHOD win. Average for Pettitte, superb relief again. Two more hits for captain Jeter, the best player in the baseball.

Larry Mitchell said...

If the suckfull bosux go down today, I think we cannot lose the division. Plus, if Texas win, the bosux will be in big trouble for playoff spot. Choo choo

Frank R said...

Nice win, we have Mitre tomorrow. Would be great if he repeats last outing. This team is deep. choo choo

Anonymous said...

The clean sox have just trounced the foul filthy sox. Go Rangers.

Ben Pake said...

We either win or split the series today. I too would like to see what Mitre brings to the table today.

johnny said...

choo choo choo choo go yankees

Teens/Bronx said...

Nice work johnny. Lets get ready for the playoffs. choo choo

johnsondc said...

If you could draw up a more screwed up miserably played game than todays, I don't know what you could add. This is a true WIN METHOD loss. Just the kind of game to lose and illustrate how meaningless individual stats are.

Dan Glover said...

CC,AJ, and Jeter going for the all time Yankee hit record. Could be a fantastic Labor Day. Stay glued to your TV.

Perry D said...

If we take both games from the Rays, that should about kill any chances they have for the wild card. Choo choo

Lou Lis said...

Everyone needs to play hard and get ready for the plsyoffs. Particularly mentally. The playoffs will be a big test for Afraud.

Carl Sanders said...

Yet another WIN METHOD game. CC was brilliant, the pen Hughes and Mo were brilliant and the offense came alive late for the win.

Will James said...

The bosux just lost, the division is ours. And the Angels are close to going down, which could mean home field for us for the playoffs.

Mike Blount said...

Lets get the second one tonight and put the Rays out of their misery. Choo choo

bigbadwolf said...

The train is still moving to its final destination. choo choo. Great game to watch today. Only downer was Jeter not getting a hit. But as Jeter lives by example, the win wa the only thing that mattered.

Dan Flores said...

Having a between game snow crablegs dinner. How sweet it is. Choo choo.
Get game two team.

Andrew J said...

AJ needs to start pitching like Andy and CC. He will be needed for the playoffs. Choo choo AJ.

Tony Yates said...

Wow, what a day. Two wins and the competition all lose. This team is creating magic. Everything is beautiful. Choo choo.

Water Tabor said...

Gaudin goes today. It looks like he and Mitre are competing for a starting spot. Keep it rolling, but a loss would be welcomed.

Anonymous said...

Two nice wins yesterday. Some wasted tuns in game 2 however. Girardi is using his players, particularly the pitchers, masteerfully, in getting ready for the second season.

Yankeemike said...

I agree, Girardi has been splendid in the use of the staff. The September call ups have aided alot in the blow out games.

Warren Hammond said...

If Gaudin does well he may push out Mitre from a possible post season roster spot.

Erica Nuyens said...

WIN METHOD, if you get a chance, can you post who you think will be on the Yankee post season roster. I know you will know more than anyone else. Love you.

Linda Pardo said...

Yes John Sterling, last night Yankee win was Swishalicious. Choo choo.

johnsondc said...

Swisher was the difference last night. Gaudin was super. the best part was Hughes giving up a run. That way he doesn't go into the playoffs with something like 20+ scoreless innings. A touch of reality is good for everyone.

Don White said...

We have this series and a win today is a sweep of a four game set. Very deep team led by the captain.

Sid Lovitz said...

Will be interesting to see what Joba brings to the table tonight. The train is rolling. choo choo

Steve said...

Choo choo. Another magical win. Superior pitching by many. Jeter is one of a kind, and is unquestionably (except by statfrauds and idiots)the best player in baseball. A leader, a gentleman, and an example for the nation as a whole. Big hit from Posada off the bench to win the game.

Gabe Hooks said...

A day off. The train is resting. Jeter becomes the all time Yankee hit leader on Friday. To bad it isn't against the bosux.

Sharon/NC said...

Jeter deserves every accolade possible. He is an inspirational human being of the up most character. Go Derek.

Steve said...

I was just perusing a baseball blog and here isa post from a guy named Dominic....'''"seeing as the Yankees moved the best shortstop of the last 80-plus years to accommodate Jeter."""
Dominic is an imbecile in referring to Afraud as the best shortstop in 80 years. Afraud hasn't been the best shortstop ever, He is barely adequate at third base, and until very recently has only played for himself and never the team he is on.

bigbadwolf said...

I used to post on that baseball forum. I found that most posters there knew little about baseball and were generally stupid. When confronted with a question about pitchers, they said they would rather have a losing pitcher over a winning pitcher if the losing pitchers ERA was lower. They felt ERA was more important than WINS. And yes, Dominic is a jackass.

Steve said...

I have never posted there and never will, but I know about that forum. Dominic is only one of many fools there. the moderators are two of the biggest fools.

johnsondc said...

Lets not dwell on the baseball forums, but concentrate our efforts on posting here at the greatest baseball blog in the world, with the most knowledgeable fans. Keep positive, keep the train movinng, and let us reach our goal. Choo choo.

Phil Koontz said...

Pettite tonight with long rest. He has been super. Keep it up Andy. Choo choo.

Teena/Bronx said...

Tonights game may be iffy with rain on and off all day so far. worst case a day/ night DH one of the next two days. Rather play tonight.

Larry Hoyt said...

Lets continue to dominate and take another series, one game at a time. Jeter reaches the highest rung on the Yankee hit ladder tonight.

William Mensom said...

All hail Derek Jeter, the Yankees all time hit leader. The greatest active MLB player.

Karen said...

Congratulations to Jeter!!! I hope the rain stops. Go Yanks!!! Choo choo

Tom Loughlin said...

Unfortunately Derek get the record in a loss, which he must hate. The good part is, Andy gets his bad game out of the way, the team gets a loss, which at this point and time in the season is not bad. Look for AJ and CC to bounce us right back on track. choo choo.

Don Glover said...

A loss every third game is perfect, even two losses is acceptable right now. Hold the bif streak of wins until the playoffs, and then the train goes full speed ahead. Choo choo.

Yankeemike said...

It looks like the Yankees will meet the Tigers in the first round of the playoffs. Verlander vs. Sabathia. But lets get todays game first. Choo choo.

johnsondc said...

It seems odd to feel good about a loss. But losing two in a row and losing this series is a good. To understand the WIN METHOD, you will see that a team will lose a certain amount of games over the season, no matter how good the team is. Losses bring the players back to reality and just what it does take to win consistently. Losses now mean little to nothing. Losses like these now, if occurring in the playoffs, could mean elimination very quickly. Lose now and save the wins.

johnsondc said...

Good points johnsondc. Also, Burnett had one rotten inning. I can live with that. Get the garbage out now and excel WHEN it counts. Yes that is WIN METHOD.

Pat Piper said...

It is time to start getting everyone ready for the playoffs. Any loses do not make much difference now. we are in and destiny awaits.

Sam Holden said...

Far to many wasted runs in the 8th inning. Never the less, a win.

Carl Z said...

CC was only so so. Damon made a gaff. Get it all out of the way now.
Clear the tracks for the playoff run. choo choo.

Tom Loughlin said...

One game series tonight. Joba vs. Weaver. Would like to see Joba do well tonight and start dominating hitters the way he can.

WIN METHOD said...

Erica, this is the YANKEE post season roster as I see it.
1.Damon 2.Swisher 3.Hinske 4.Gardner 5.Melky 6.Matsui 7.Posada 8.Molina 9.Texieria 10.Cano 11.Jeter 12.Rodriquez 13.Hairston 14.Sabathia 15.Pettitte 16.Burnett 17.Chamberlain 18.Rivera 19.Hughes 20.Coke 21.Bruney 22.Marte 23.Aceves 24.Robertson(depending on health of arm) 25.Pena
Robertson and Pena would be the questions with Albaladejo for Robertson and Cervelli for pena as options. The first 23 are assured as of now.

Erica Nuyens said...

Thanks WIN METHOD. I love you.

sid greenberg/nyc said...

I don't worry much about the Yankee player decisions. They know more of what's going on than any of us.

Alex P said...

I hope the train rolls over the Angels tonight. We can send a clear message. Choo choo.

Chuck Adams said...

You got your wish Alex. The train choo chooed the Angels. Great game to watch between two quality teams.

Harold Starvis said...

It was a really good game. Girardi made a lot of good moves and Jeters gem up the middle killed off the Angels. Two game series with the Jays coming up.

Ken Ross said...

Solid win last night. Keep the train moving today guys.

Ben Pake said...

Halladay goes for the Jays tonight against Mitre. If the train keeps rolling, our destiny is surely written to be positive.

bigbadwolf said...

It would be a gigantic win to beat Halladay tonight with Mitre starting. You never know, that is why they play the games. Anything by stat frauds on paper is useless and meaningless.

William Mensom said...

It looks like Mitre has made the case for not being on the roster in the playoffs. Solid loss while scoring some runs off Halladay. Pettitte to skip turn in able to be stronger for the playoffs. smart move. Gaudin gets a shot tonight. Hope he does better than Mitre.

Walter O said...

A little fisticuffs last night should help team chemistry. Everything is looking bright. I couldn't have written it any better.

H Lopez said...

Yep, the encounter will help build comraderie, trust, and team spirit. Real punches were thrown.

Another nice WIN METHOD come back win last night. That may have sewn up home field advantage.

If Girardi feels comfortable with his staff, I can see him adding Cervelli to the post season roster. I had mentioned Cervelli in an earlier post in response to a question from a poster. Three catchers is good protection and allows much flexibility and options. Yes thta was a WIN METHOD win last night.

Last western swing for the Yankees starts tonight. Just win each series or at worst go 3-3 and we will be fine. Prep work begins for the playoffs.
