MANNY TOO?

My most recent information has the YANKEE captain Derek Jeter presently talking with Manny Ramirez. The decision will soon be made whether or not to offer Manny a 3 year $25M contract. If Manny passes the Jeter test, Manny could be offered a contract as soon as next week. The YANKEES signing of Manny would surely throw the baseball world into an uproar and send many cry baby fans of other teams straight to their crying towels. A Manny signing would be just another nail in the Arod coffin and could make Arods miserable clutch hitting a moot and mute point, since truly qualified WIN METHOD hitters would pick up Arods slack.

YANKEE SIGNING 2

Here's the scoop on Mark Teixeira. It appears Mr. Teixeira will soon sign a YANKEE contract and become the YANKEE first baseman. This may be the much needed piece that can counteract the detrimental effect of the sad untimely clutch hitting of the sieve choker Arod. Teixeira will be a perfect fit for the new cathedral of baseball, the new YANKEE STADIUM. With the captain Derek Jeter, the best all around player in MLB since the mid 90's leading the way. A revamped pitching staff led by Wang, Sabathia, Burnett, Chamberlin, and Pettitte, the YANKEES could be in store for a big season.

For the many of you who have asked for more information and postings regarding the WIN METHOD and how it works, more information will be coming. Remember everyone, that WHEN a player performs and helps his team win, is far and away more important and valuable to his team than hwo many and much he attains for himself and does not help the team win. The stat geeks are crying already.

YANKEE SIGNING

C.C. Sabathia will soon become a YANKEE. After having met with YANKEE captain Derek Jeter, and with the greatest owner in MLB opening the purse strings, it appears Sabathia will sign an extended YANKEE contract. This will give the YANKEES a second 'ace' behind Wang, and solidify a very promising staff. If only the YANKEES would not have signed the sieve choker arod at third base, winning would be almost a sure thing. While working around arod is not easy, it can be done. arod has not ever been, nor will ever be a WIN METHOD player. A player who plays for the teams success and not his own personal records.

INDIVIDUAL STATS 3

Spent fourteen hours at YANKEE STADIUM yesterday. Talked with many former and present YANKEE players, all of whom I have talked to in the past. Relating to the WIN METHOD and how little meaning individual stats are in defining the greatest players, Reggie Jackson spoke on this subject. From what I have heard, Reggie, in a national network interview, said 'how meaningless individual stats can be in determining a players true ability to help his team and in essence be a truly great player. A great player is not measured by individual statistics, but by what he contributes to his teams success. The ability to perform under trying conditions in playoffs and World Series contests. Helping his team win multiple World Series titles and thus achieving true greatness.'

Success can be measured in different ways by different people. The individual stat users who feel that what a player individually achieves for himself determines his greatness have found 'fools gold'. Individual stats are relatively worthless. Yes, they tell you how much, how many, etc. for each player. But they do not measure WHEN. WHEN is the single most important detail in measuring the great players of baseball. The greatest players of any era, achieve their greatest players of all time stature by achieving in the playoffs and the World Series over and over. The truly greatest players in baseball history of any era WIN multiple World Series rings, not only for themselves, but for their team.

The speech by Derek Jeter, (one of the greatest players in baseball over his career), was brilliant and poignant. It was a great salute to the fans, the game of baseball, and the Cathedral of baseball, YANKEE STADIUM.

INDIVIDUAL STATS 2

Evaluating baseball players is not as hard as the stat geeks like to make it out to be. Baseball is a team effort, with the desired outcome for the team to win the most often. The players who help their respective team to the most successes are the players who are truly the best in the game. How do players achieve the best in the game status? Simply by helping their team to the most playoffs, pennants, and World Series Championships, the most often, and the most consistently. What more can a fan, manager, owner, franchise, ask of a player, than to help his team to these goals. All the individual stats in the world are meaningless (but for the fantasy world) if the player does not help his team win. You may be wondering how a player with great individual stats can not help his team. Because, it is never a matter of how many, or how much he achieves individually, but it is of the greatest value and importance WHEN he achieves. A game winning hit in the very late innings of a game is far and away more valuable to a team than a grand slam late in the game you are winning 10-0. WHEN, WHEN, WHEN, is the key, and WHEN determines the greatest of the great. But that grand slam can really make your individual stats look good while not helping your team one iota.

BASEBALL INDIVIDUAL STATS

This blog is dedicated to showing how meaningless individual stats for a baseball player are. The blog will show the reader how individual stats can be used, and where they can be used to help define a player.

For starters, you the fan, will have to realize that baseball is played by individuals for one purpose. The purpose being, the success of the team. To many fans have been taught that individual stats tell the ability of a player. These fans have lost sight (or never had the sight) to realize that it is not what a player achieves for himself that is important, but what the player helps his team achieve that matters.

As I post in this this blog, I will show you how to judge talent, and how to judge the best players in the game of baseball. It really isn't complicated. I will show you how to draft the best possible prospects for a team can be drafted. One caveat, this method, know as the WIN METHOD is not good for fantasy baseball leagues. Why? Because fantasy leagues are determined by individual stats, and individual stats are relatively meaningless.

Please come back, and learn real baseball. Use your common sense, and you will be enlightened. You will see baseball in a new light and not get bogged down with meaningless individual stats.
